Back Pocket Media: Land Line
Back Pocket Media presents Land Line, a storytelling experience exploring the threads of migration through personal narrative and sound.
The telephone, a lifeline connecting migrants, travelers, and lovers to distant voices, becomes both medium and metaphor. Storytellers phone in live from distant locations, sharing true stories of movement, transition, and belonging. Their unfiltered accounts—sometimes whispered, sometimes proclaimed—fill the darkened space, creating an immersive landscape of memory.
Date: Fri, April 18th, 2025
Time: Doors: 6PM, Early show: 7PM, Late show: 8:30PM
Cost: $20
Location: Four One Nine, 419 Tenth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103

Intimate stories with strangers
By stripping the performance of visual distractions, Four One Nine’s gallery transforms into a sanctuary for connection, where strangers' voices become trusted companions in the dark. Musical interludes respond to and extend the emotional resonance of each story, bridging the space between listener and speaker.
Land Line challenges conventional performance by centering absence as presence. Voices travel across space prompting communal listening and an intimate questioning of place.
There will be two show times: 7:00PM and 8:30PM. Doors open at 6PM. Live music by Shaina Pan.
Beer from Fort Point Beer Co. and wine will be available for purchase.
